So now we know the reason why it was headed for that bush in such a hurry when she grabbed it.

Since our home turf is sadly lacking any substantial population, or any at all really, of little green lizards, like the ones they had in all kinds of plenty in Florida during her stay there, C will lovingly chase down and gently pick up for closer study and general adoration, usually accompanied by a series of affectionate oooh's and awww's, any reptile or amphibian that crosses her path, or, like this one, take up temporary nocturnal residence just below the stairs by our front door. She's just that kind of girl.

Not to worry about that little bit of leakage, though. I'm too polite to ever say this to a toad's face, but whenever I interact socially with them, I always wash my hands afterwards anyway.

And Mommy is probably just glad to be rid of the little uninvited tenant.
